You can teach them using toys they like. For example like if barbie or the toy car use this in example to the drug how it can harm them the same could happen to you.

     St. Louis, Mo—The author, Brian Irons wrote a book on drug use and abuse. The book is titled, “I Did Not Know”. The I Did Not Know story explains how and why drugs destroyed Brian Irons athletic dream. This book on drug abuse will show people who have dreams, that they should never participate in drug use. People need to follow their dreams; not be influenced by drugs.

People must continually stay focused, if they want to see dreams and goals fulfilled. It only takes to make one bad decision, to see your life going into the wrong direction.

Marijuana was my first drug of choice. Most of today’s drug addicts; their first drug of choice was marijuana. When I first started using drugs, that’s when I lost focused on my dream. Then, perhaps, a few years later, I began experimenting with other drugs. Throughout the years, my brain became familiar with Heroin, Cocaine, Dippers/PCP, Premo, Valiums, Tylenol 3 and 4, Codeine Pills, Syrup, Hard Liquor, Beer, and only God knows what else.

     One day, while I was getting high, my heart stopped beating for 11 minutes. I immediately went into a coma, and stayed in it for ten days. I suffered an injury to the brain. Because of the injury, the nerves in my left leg suffered damage. I thank God that I can at least walk, but my balancing is very poor. Using a wheelchair has become my means of transportation. Wow, I Did Not Know drugs would do ME like this.

     Do not be denied entering into your dream. Don’t let chemical control substances stop your dreams from being fulfilled. The I Did Not Know book on drug abuse just might be your last note to freedom. I would that you order this book, and once you receive it, check yourself in a Drug Rehab Treatment Center immediately.

     Imagine reading a book on the subject of drugs, while being treated at a Rehab Center. If you do this, it means you have finally taken this addiction thing serious. You thought of many ways to get high; now you must think of a way to stop the addiction madness. Do not allow drug addiction to defeat you any longer. You had no idea, that drugs  would flipped the whole script.  You started abusing drugs for 3 weeks. But drugs have been abusing you for the past 5 or more years. So, tell me, who do you think is winning the game?

     In the year 2000, Heroin killed more than 2,000 Americans. Cocaine killed more than 2,500. Alcohol killed more than 80,000. Tobacco killed more than 440,000. Those stats were from the year of 2000. Now that ten years has passed, imagine what the statistics reads now. Wow, drugs and chemical controlled substances are murdering people more than anything is. Drugs are from the curse; and the curse is the addiction; and the addiction leads to the grave.

     Not only are drugs leading lives to the grave, but also to committing crime. In St. Louis, Mo, in the year of 2009, there was a recorded 143 murders. In 2008, there were 167 murders, 237 forcible rapes; 2, 634 robberies; 4, 345 aggravated assaults; 7, 274 burglaries; 17, 328 larceny thefts; 5, 841 vehicle thefts.

     I guaranteed you, 90 percent of these crimes were committed by people whose brains were under the influence of a chemical controlled substance. If you continue using drugs, you just might experience one of the above-mentioned crimes. Why are we continually watching this madness take place? Are we really trying to do something to conquer crimes? We pray about it all the time. We have faith that something can be done, but where are our works.

Order this book, and send it to a friend who has a dream. Order copies of this book, and mail them to your out of town relatives. Order this book, and send it to your child, who is in college, hoping to make it to pro league sports. If you want to see a better earth, you should include I Did Not Know into the vision.

     Please donate what you can. If you feel this ministry is needful, please act today, by giving a small donation. Help me spread the word to a dying drug-filled world.

The most effective treatment for alcohol and drug addiction

Drug addicts or alcoholics do not need to be punished or issued with ultimatums. In fact, this is one of the worst ways to attempt to change a drug addict or alcoholic’s behaviour. What is addiction?

In the past addiction was thought of as being a failure of will power or as a character flaw in the addicted individual. However, we now know that addiction is actually a disease with psychological and social aspects. People with an addiction do not have control over what they are doing or using. The disease of addiction manifests itself in many ways, whether drugs, alcohol or unhealthy relationships – addictive behaviours are all symptomatic of the underlying condition.

who’s know about drug addiction?

Question by Brazilian Master: who’s know about drug addiction?
Answer here what you know about drug addiction, your history or any you know about drug abuse, drug addiction treatment, drug treatment, drug addiction rehab, drug rehab.

Best answer:

Answer by *vortex*
Drug addiction like all addiction excites the opioid center of your brain. This cause the release of endorphines and allowing a continuous sense of happiness until the drug wears off. Then your body craves more and more. The more you try to feed the addiction the harder it is to stop because the body become more tolerant each time you use it. So in order to reach the initial high you felt when you first started using, you have to use more drugs. This self-destructive cycle is what leads to overdosing and death. This cycle also applies to other addictions like food or dare devil stunts.
Drug rehab can be effective even if the patient is forced to attend.

The Teen Drug Abuse Statistics Every Parent Should Know

The Teen Drug Abuse Statistics Every Parent Should Know

Adolescent rehab programs in the US have stated that drug and alcohol abuse among adolescents is a real problem that should be confronted. One of the prominent teen rehab in Pennsylvania states that parents have a huge responsibility to ensure that their kids are not being induced by drugs.  They should not be harsh with their kids but at the same time, they shouldn’t be too lenient and maintain a watchful eye because this phase of life can be quite vulnerable and be the base of how he or she would be as an adult.

The teen drug abuse statistics are alarming to say the least; just goes to show where the future of this country is heading thanks to the callous attitude adopted by adults and the open culture existence perpetrated by the media and the Internet.  In the US, there are about 3,500 teenagers who smoke every day. Nearly 27 percent of teenagers have confessed to abusing any one drug in the year 2004.  The drug that is most abused in this age group is Marijuana. Teenagers who socialize and frequent parties are known to abuse the Club Drug ‘Ecstasy’. A survey of 10th graders four years back showed that 15 percent used Marijuana, 13 percent of them used inhalants and 6 percent used a club drug

Why do teenagers abuse drugs? According to the reports put forwarded by teen treatment centers that have examined this situation and treated many youngsters, peer pressure and lack of confidence are the biggest reasons.  When a fellow teenager boasts about taking drugs and seducing a girl in his class, or when a group of drug-struck teenagers talk about the ‘highs ‘that they get by taking drugs, an impressionable teenager develops the interest in trying it out and that’s where the trouble starts brewing

Drugs are known to have dangerous effects that can harm a person’s physical and mental development. For one, it can harm the teen’s ability to absorb information and pay attention. Teenagers who have drugs are more likely to indulge in unprotected sex and even have physical relationships with a complete stranger. Teenagers who abuse drugs are usually the ones who are getting into this bad habit from a young age and if the person does not stop his or her addiction, it can be very difficult to get rid of this problem and even when treated, there are chances of relapse when quitting the drug addiction.

Anabolic steroids cause a lot of sexual problems in both the sexes. The reproductive organs are not developed properly, men tend to become impotent, and women suffer from hair loss and clitoral enlargement. Additionally, there are other repercussions like acne, skin diseases, baldness, stunted growth, stroke, liver diseases, cancer and risk of HIV/AIDS in both sexes, given the fact that some of the drugs can make a person promiscuous in nature

Substance abuse can affect the body systems and depending on whether the body is able to process the drug or not, there have been many instances of interrupted breathing from sedatives, permanent brain damage from inhalants and heart attacks from stimulants.  Needless to say, all of these drugs can lead to death as well.   Drugs according to teen rehab centers, may be taken by teens to mask their fears and anxieties but in retrospect, they actually increase these worries after the momentary ‘high’ is lost and due to increased depression, a person can actually commit suicide, kill someone or even become a homicide victim.

Get To Know The Outpatient Treatment Program For Alcohol Addiction In Ohio Better

Get To Know The Outpatient Treatment Program For Alcohol Addiction In Ohio Better

There are multiple variations of the outpatient treatment program in Ohio. This makes the choice quite difficult for people who are not quite aware of how the addiction treatment program in Ohio functions. In most cases, people tend to choose the simplest form of addiction treatment, and this is where the outpatient format becomes so very popular. The very fact that patients do not need to stay within these centers means that there are several liberties that can be taken with the program. This is what entices the alcoholic patients who are, in any case, in a state of denial about their alcoholism.

However, it must be known that the outpatient treatment program of alcohol addiction in Ohio is not cut out for everybody. There are some kinds of people for whom this kind of recovery process would work, but for a vast majority of people it won’t. This is a brief look into how the outpatient treatment program for alcohol addiction in Ohio works and what kind of people will find it most suitable for their recoveries.

The Way an Outpatient Treatment Program for Alcohol Addiction in Ohio is conducted

Most outpatient centers in Ohio will have nine to ten hours a week for their recovery programs. The patient can continue living in their own homes, but they will have to visit the treatment center about three to four times in a week, for a session that would last for two to four hours each time. Different centers have different rules and stipulations about the timings and even the frequencies of the meetings, so if you are considering this kind of program, it is important that you take a look at their website.

There are three main aspects to the program: the maintenance treatment, the individual counseling and the group education therapies.

Maintenance treatment becomes very important if the patient has been in a detox program prior to this and is looking upon the outpatient mostly as an aftercare method. In that case, the maintenance medication will help the patient in controlling any further temptations for the substance. Different kinds of addictions have different kinds of maintenance medication, hence it is important for you to understand in advance whether the treatment center you are considering for the outpatient program has expertise in the particular kind of addiction or not.

The individual counseling is targeted at understanding the individual issues of the patient and helping them to overcome those. This becomes quite important if a psychiatric condition has propelled the addiction in the person. The group therapies are various methods such as breathing and relaxation exercises and holistic methods such as Yoga and Pranayama that are targeted at helping people resist their cravings for alcohol. Various other kinds of therapies such as massages and acupuncture are also performed over the patients so that they can conquer their alcoholism. The group sessions also work as great motivators as the patients can see other people coming out of their dependencies.

Who is suitable for an Outpatient Treatment Program for Alcohol Addiction in Ohio?

It is quite understandable that the outpatient treatment program is a mild form of recovery process. It cannot work for people who are with intense forms of addictions. Intensity in the addiction can come in various ways. People who have been using alcohol since several years as well as people who have been consuming a lot of alcohol by volume will not be suitable for outpatient programs. The main reason here is that these people will have a heavy accumulation of the substance in their body which will need an inpatient detox treatment. If at all they need to use the outpatient, they will be able to use it only as a method of aftercare.

People who have some chronic ailments will also not be quite benefited with the outpatient treatment program. These people will need dual treatment to handle their medical condition as well as the addiction. Here, a dual diagnosis approach will be well suited.

One important qualification for a person to go through an outpatient program is that he or she should be in a sound state of mind. This is because most of the success of the treatment depends on how well the person can stay determined to abstain. For that reason, people who have some kind of mental condition or psychiatric ailment will not be suitable for outpatient.

Things You Should Know About The Detox Treatment In Oklahoma

Things You Should Know About The Detox Treatment In Oklahoma

The detox treatment in Oklahoma is definitely one of the most important parts of the entire addiction treatment program in the state. Most programs for addiction treatment in the state include the detox treatment as the primary process of the treatment and the rest of the program follows suit. Let us understand the detox treatment in Oklahoma a little better.

What is the Detox Treatment Program?

The detox treatment program is a program wherein the person’s body is cleansed from the substances that accumulate in it due to the addiction. When a person has been using a particular addictive substance for a period of time, there are high chances that the substance would not be metabolized properly and this could create a toxic buildup in the body of the person. Over time, this toxicity would hamper with the normal working of the body and create health complications. The main intention of the detox treatment in Oklahoma and elsewhere is to free up this toxic accumulation in the body.

How is Detox Treatment in Oklahoma conducted?

There is a definite process for conducting the detox treatment program in Oklahoma. When a person is put into this program, the first thing that is done is to make the person abstain completely from the substance. This is done in an inpatient treatment center so that the person can be constantly monitored for the abstinence and for the progress of the treatment.

Once the abstinence begins, the person will develop the withdrawal pangs within one or two days depending on how intense the addiction has been with the patient and the nature of the addiction. This can take on a very intense form in a very short while. That is the reason constant medical supervision is provided.

There are two aims that detox medication tries to achieve. The first intention of this medication is to stop or reduce the craving the person has for the substance. This is done through special medication that can target the same areas of the person’s brain as the addictive substance does. Due to this, as long as that medication is kept on, the person won’t feel the craving for that substance. One example here is methadone which is used in the heroin detox treatment in Oklahoma. Methadone is an opiate just like heroin is and it has almost the same influence on the person’s brain as heroin. Hence, when a person takes methadone, the urge for heroin is allayed.

The second purpose of the medication that is provided during the detox treatment is to reduce the pain and the effects of the withdrawal. Depending on the nature and the intensity of the addiction, the patient will face several problems such as pains and aches, muscle cramps, giddiness and dizziness, hunger pangs, etc. Antidepressants and painkillers may be provided to mitigate these effects.

The detox treatment in Oklahoma will continue till the time all the withdrawal effects are removed from the patient. This can take anywhere from three days to three weeks, depending on how intense the person’s addiction is. In normal cases, the patient will be out of the detox in three to seven days, but if the addiction has been for a very long time, or if there are some other bodily or psychiatric complications coming in the way, or if the addiction is of a very strong substance such as methamphetamine or heroin, then there is a possibility that the detox will go on for a long period of time.

What are the Benefits of the Detox Treatment in Oklahoma?

The primary benefit of the detox treatment is to purge all the toxic materials from the body of the person. This is very important if the person is looking at complete recovery. Without removing these substances, health complications can occur at any time in life, even years after the person has worked his or her own way out of the addiction. A good example of this is the possible occurrence of the fatal cirrhosis of the liver in people who have given up an alcohol addiction years ago.

But there is another very important reason why the detox treatment is considered to be a vital element of the addiction treatment program in Oklahoma. When the substance is completely removed from the body of the person, there is a definite chance that the person will lose the craving for the substance. This is not possible even if the faintest trace of the substance remains in the person’s body. That is the reason detox has to be conducted, whether the person is physically and mentally able for it or not.

Click on detox treatment in Oklahoma in order to understand more about how it is conducted.

What Every Parent Should Know About Teenage Prescription Drug Abuse

What Every Parent Should Know About Teenage Prescription Drug Abuse

 Most of us tend to be shocked when we hear about drug addiction among teenagers and wonder how kids these days abuse drugs like marijuana, cocaine, heroin etc. But most of us are not aware about an equally demonic prescription drug addiction, a life-threatening drug abuse that permeates in the homes of people, not on the shady lanes of the city nook and corners. Yes, prescription drug addiction is one of the worst and fast increasing drug addictions that are actually tilting drug abuse statistics high among teens.  Teen treatment centers are gearing up to treat this problem effectively and efficiently, so  if you think that a teen in your house or someone you know is suffering from this form of addiction, make sure you get him or he to a teen rehab.

Doctors advise to stop taking the given medication after taking it for a certain period of time, especially for young people, because taking a higher dose or taking them for more than the time needed, can offset reactions in the body and can also lead to drug overdose. People who take medicine for every whim and fancy tend to develop higher tolerance towards the medicine. This means the person wants to have more of the medicine to get the same curative feeling he got from the usual small dose.  So in order words, he starts to take an extra pill and that is where the addiction starts.  Of course, such people do not care or bother to check with the doctor and self-medicate themselves, an act that can lead to disastrous results.

Prescription drugs taken without consulting with the doctor can lead to different disorders, diseases, reactions and in worst cases, even death.  The National Institute on Drug Abuse and many teen rehab programs have revealed that women, especially girls in their teens and early 20s tend to take prescription drugs for non-medical reasons. For instance, they take medicines for constipation, menstrual problems, headache, sinus issues, weight loss, weight gain etc. Some of the symptoms that are associated with prescription drug addiction include inability to sleep, diarrhea, constipation, mood swings, nausea, pale skin, hair loss, memory loss, mood swings etc.

You should solve the problem before it gets worse. If you come to know through some signs and clues that a teen in your family is taking drugs,  please have a chat with her and let her know that what she is doing can cause a lot of problems to her body and mind.  If she is addicted, she may just say yes and go back to taking drugs. In such a case, you can be sure that the person can only be treated by taking her to a teen recovery center. They have a variety of tools and techniques that can solve this problem permanently. What One Should Know About Drug Addiction

What One Should Know About Drug Addiction

Alcoholism & Drug Addiction are common realities in today’s society. Some estimates have shown that over twenty percent of the United States population battles with a substance abuse problem. Not only health caregivers and social workers encounter this population on a regular basis. Indeed, even company managers and professionals most likely encounter some (if not many) of this percentage more often then not. Professionals in their positions of authority may be the only ones with the opportunity to help. It is their opportunity to spot drug dependency and (hopefully) offer the availability for effective individualized and holistic treatment. A little perception and educated kindness may mean the world of difference – maybe even save a life.

Who Does Drug Addiction Affect?

Addiction’s effects insidiously spread. Bringing only destruction, sorrow, and pain, it affects not only the addict, but also the people in his/her life. Hurting friends and family, drug addiction also permeates professional settings. Employees with dependency problems hurt businesses and create aggravating and possibly unsafe work environments. In medical settings, addiction intensifies the care needed from psychological and physical health providers.

Many untrue myths on the origins of drug addiction continue to circulate. Some attempt to pinpoint the social groups most affected. Others attempt to recognize addiction as an illness or a moral defect. These falsehoods must be stopped. While they perpetuate unnecessary confusion, fear, and shame, these inaccurate conclusions augment problems and make them more difficult to treat. Addiction does not appear in any particular component of society. Rather, it affects every socio-economic class, ethnicity, and gender. Not a disease and never an indication of a “bad” person, addiction is merely a problem that needs solving. There is no reason to label drug addicts with untrue stereotypes, and there is no need to fear them. At some point everyone struggles with life’s hurdles and needs help from others. Addicts are no different from anyone else. No one chooses addiction; rather, addiction steals from him/her. With kindness, help, and support from others, people can reclaim their lives.

How Can Drug Addiction Be Detected?

With most drug addictions there are warning signs. Some are characteristic symptoms of particular substances. (e.g., most alcohol can be smelled on the breath; constant sniffling may indicate a cocaine user, puncture scars inside the elbows can suggest syringe use for heroin abuse, etc.). However, there are many general indicators as well:

* Red or dilated eyes
* Slurred speech
* Cold or sweaty hands
* Difficulties concentrating
* Moody, impatient, dangerous, and/or violent behavior
* Extreme periods of energy (e.g., constant talking) and/or fatigue
* Paranoia
* Sudden or decreasing disregard in personal appearance or hygiene
* Sudden change in friends
* Dishonesty
* Depression

Well over half of drug users work, and two out of five have taken an illicit drug at their work site. Unsurprisingly, almost half of work related accidents involve substance abuse. While this causes daily frustration for managers and fellow employees, low productivity and damages cause money losses. Mistakes and inappropriate behaviors put employees and customers in danger. Substance abuse on the job manifests in many ways:

* Decreases the quality and/or speed of work.
* Constant absences and/or tardiness (especially right before a weekend or holiday break and right after payday): Researchers find that drugs cause over sixty percent of work absences.
* Often leaving work early
* Lengthening breaks
* Talking more on the phone
* Stealing company supplies and/or profits

An employer may detect job performance issues; whereas, a health provider may spot behavioral issues during an exam/evaluation. However, regardless of a professional’s role, it is vital that action follows even the slightest amount of suspicion. Helping a substance abuser will not only help the addict, but also the others that love and work with him/her.

How Can a Professional Help a Drug Addict?

Addiction can be permanently treated. But then why do so many recovering addicts return to the same behaviors? Posing a severe problem in and of itself, addiction rarely develops on its own. Substance abuse most often results from inadequate coping of conscious and unconscious deeper issues. Problems stem from unresolved childhood traumas, current personal tensions, and occasionally deep troubles at work. Dependency denial merely enlarges the initial denial. Substance abusers require extensive patience, compassion, and sensitivity to treat and to heal. For this reason, addicts may need constant encouragement to pursue treatment options. Employees may benefit from job-enforced treatment programs. Unfortunately, while abuse instigators are commonly known, treatment is often misunderstood. However, with individual and holistic treatment that heals the underlying causes for the dependency on drugs and/or alcohol, the addiction itself can disappear!

By preparing ahead of time, professionals can ensure that they provide substance abusers with sufficient help. Below are some suggestions. (These do not substitute for the help of a professional interventionist, nor should they be used in an intervention-type scenario).

Step One: Educate Yourself on the Signs of Drug Addiction

First, know how to recognize addiction; look for warning signs (stated earlier). Second, become familiar with strategies for handling with a possible drug addition (described in the following text).

Step Two: Talk to the Person

This may prove to be the most difficult step. Fears of being wrong often deter people from approaching a possible addict. However, it is better to talk to a person and be wrong then to say nothing and allow an addiction to continue. Even if a person does not have or is in denial of having a substance addiction, he/she will still know that someone cares. However, always broach the topic in an unthreatening and non-accusatory manner. When criticism and condescension are eliminated, a person shows his/her true concern.

Step Three: Offer Guidance and Suggestions

While demonstrating concern is essential, it is important not to come on too strong. Destroying well-intentioned help, “overbearing” concern may end up smothering and discouraging a substance abuser. A substance-abuse situation is a delicate matter. While addiction may be apparent, all other issues, which perhaps contributed to the present condition, are not. Sobriety can never be achieved unless an addict takes charge of his/her own situation and decides to change his/her lifestyle. With gentle guidance and suggestions, professionals enable addicts to utilize necessary agency.

Step Four: Be Supportive

Even if professionals delicately ask about a possible addiction, the addict may still refuse help. Substance abuse and its initial/current life problems create massive feelings of helplessness. They may not feel capable of stopping their addictions, and they might not trust others, even those that want to help. Nonetheless, with persistent patience and compassion, a professional can communicate his/her sincerity; and eventually, the addict may gain the necessary trust and courage for drug rehab.

The Lasting Recovery of Individual and Holistic Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation

People suffering from addiction need both benefits of individualized care and of socialization with others facing the same obstacles. Individualized treatment is essential for enduring sobriety. While symptoms may be common, causes are never completely shared. Being an individual automatically implies that life is experienced uniquely. People require different addiction treatment therapies, and people need adequate time to explore their individual sorrows and stresses in a secure environment. However, the benefits of solidarity should never be overlooked. When rehabilitation centers provide one-on-one individualized treatment, the individual and social components combine to bring faster and healthier healing.

Substance abuse attacks from all angles and progressively weakens a person into sequestered parts. Holistic addiction treatment naturally reunites body, mind, and spirit into an enduring whole person again.

Drug Rehab Centers should offer a variety of specified therapy treatments. Incorporated with individual chemical dependency counseling, state-of-the-art methods of psychotherapy and hypnotherapy enable people to heal from anxiety and memories which often cause the self-medicating substance abuse. Family counseling repairs the relationships contributing to and brought on by addiction. Life purpose and spiritual counseling enable people to embrace their true identities and to move positively forward.

Rejuvenating all components of human life, comprehensive alcohol and drug rehabilitation offers further treatments including:

- Physical Training
- Massage/Bodywork
- Acupuncture
- Nutritional Advisement
- Yoga/Music/Arts Treatment
- Image Therapy
- Peaceful and Soothing Environment

Complete drug or alcohol rehab programs develop further specialty therapies to address specific client needs. A staff team closely works to create the best individualized/holistic treatment possible. Most importantly, all activities focus directly on healing the initial problems that caused the dependency.

Professional help is needed to eradicate substance abuse. With valuable societal positions, professionals play critical roles in the detection and recovery of substance abuse/addiction problems. Due to society’s variety of occupations, most drug addicts encounter at least one, if not more, professionals at some time. After the identification of warning signs, consistent patience, compassion, and support will guide addicts not only to drug rehabs, but also to ideal addiction treatment programs that provide enduring natural sobriety. Individual and holistic addiction treatment is available.
